For a start the song is by SLADE, not SHADE. And I didn't think the game was that great either, you should make a drag and drop game instead and draw your own images in flash rather than using images off the net, it just doesn't work too well.

I gave you 3/10 for effort but I think you could do much better than that.

Seriously this is awesome. I don't know why its only got a rating of 3.66, it deserves alot more than that.

The only bad point is that the game is actually very hard and I think you should start off with more health and stat points or your Health should regenerate every time you win a fight.

I will consider your suggestion... but i fear that would make it "too much" easier. Think that at the beginning there was only the smallest healing (the one that costs 2 coins... :-) lol

[Hero RPG]

brilliant!

This game was great! There are plenty of RPG games on Newgrounds, but none as good as this. It kept me entertained for hours, and not many games can do that. This is definitely going on my favourites list.

I loved the upgrades with new armour and weapons and the stats upgrading was great aswell. The quests were well thought out and had a good story behind them and ontop of all that the graphics were pretty good.

The only bad point that i would say is that the music quality wasn't very good, which got on my nerves a bit. I'd rather wait a little bit longer and have better music. I ended up muting the game and sticking some of my own tunes on.

Overall, brilliant game! Well done!

-Sorry about the music quality, its hard to get 'quality' music for large games, but hey, I think its worth a listen for the first run through at least :)

you said it takes 10 mins, but it takes me more than 10 mins to go to mcdonalds and get a cheeseburger...

and anyway, the layout and everything didnt look that great either, the 'next' button wasn't even in the same place on each frame and the plain white background was boring, not to mention the rubbish spelling. to be honest i'm surprised this didnt get blammed straight away. maybe if you learned to spell and snazzed it up a bit, you might have a half decent flash here, but for now, it needs ALOT of work.

Spelling? i don't remember if anything was wrong with it, but who cares. WHY this didn't get blammed was because it was creative. Not once did i say the recipe time included getting your materials together either.

Good to see your being honest though, i like that in a review.

it looked good and stuff, but i read the instructions carefully and then when i played it the sleepometer just kept going down even though i was shooting stuff, i played it loads but still couldn't get it. how the hell do you play this game?

genius!

This game is brilliant! and i know how hard it must have been to fiddle around with all the sounds and actionscript and identifiers and stuff. I think you could make a good rhythm game out of this concept, where the letter appears from one side and when it gets to a certain point, you have to press that letter. You could then use songs like the can-can and stuff when you get further into the game to create more of a challenge.

I loved it...

...until it froze. Yeah, i completed the first part and all that but then i went into the apothecary shop and then realised that i didn't have enough money so i clicked 'back' and then the screen just went brown and i couldn't do anything :( but anyway gret game looking forward to chapter2

For all those complaining about that, you can fix it by pressing ENTER, which displays the menu and then you can continue if you close that!
I've uploaded an update that fixes that bug, but Newgrounds certainly is taking its time to 'approve' it, it seems...

WOW!

i don't normally write reviews, but this game is absolutely brilliant and it was so funny in some places (especially at the end, lol!). And also, i noticed something. At the beginning when you are seen at the table with another captain and you are just about to play cards, is that meant to be captain jack sparrow in the background with the rum?
